What is DreamShot MakerFaire?
DreamShot MakerFaire is a 4-day event celebrating innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. It brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, changemakers, and artists to showcase impactful startups, creative projects, and technological solutions for a sustainable future. The event emphasizes hands-on learning through STEAM workshops, entrepreneurial showcases, and interactive activities, inspiring individuals to bridge socio-economic gaps and foster local entrepreneurship.
Where and when will the event take place?
The event will be held from February 20 to February 23, 2025, at Techno Park in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. It aims to cover the entire Eastern Province and beyond, with participants from nearby districts like Trincomalee, Ampara, Mullaitivu, and Nuwara Eliya, as well as DreamSpace locations in Hatton and Mullaitivu.
Who are the participants?
DreamShot MakerFaire welcomes innovators, entrepreneurs, students, educators, changemakers, artists, and researchers from diverse fields. Over 2,500 participants are expected, with more than 800 attendees from Batticaloa and significant representation from other districts. Special transportation arrangements will be provided for participants traveling from Trincomalee, Ampara, Mullaitivu, and Hatton.
What are the expected outcomes of the event?
DreamShot MakerFaire aims to empower over 2,500 participants by equipping them with cutting-edge skills in technology, entrepreneurship, and creativity. The event seeks to launch 10+ innovative startups focused on sustainability, peace-tech, and social good. It also strives to build a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Eastern Province by fostering connections between makers, artists, and entrepreneurs.
